Responsibilities

  • This position will be responsible for the engineering, design, development, timing, and production release of Chassis components.

  • Quality improvements, cost reduction, and efficiency improvement initiatives including communicating technical product status to management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or other Engineering discipline from an ABET certified Engineering Curriculum. (Examples include but not limited to: BSME, BSEE, BS Materials, BS Chemical, Aerospace, etc.).

  • 0-5 years of engineering experience.

  • If entry-level, prior internships and extra-curricular activities are helpful.

  • Any commodity is okay.

  • Must have good sense of time management.

  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Leadership, creativity and eagerness to work with others.

  • Problem solving capability.

  • Lead product development, releasing, & validation activities for trailer hitches, tow hooks, jacks, spare tire winches, and skid plates.

  • Responsible for all elements of design to meet vehicle level functional objectives, packaging, quality, cost, and weight targets.

  • Lead DVP driven product development and validation including bill of material management, engineering change notices, CAD drawings, execution of design verification plan, structural CAE and physical analysis, data acquisition, confirming test procedures, documenting and approving validation results, and all release documentation to support vehicle program timing.

  • Position requires interface with suppliers and internal cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of experience specifically related to design of chassis components.

  • Experience with design, validation, and manufacturing of stamped steel and welded components.

  • Basic understanding of team center and NX.

  • Demonstrated ability to both lead and work well within a team setting. Technical understanding of virtual design of structural components -- CAE for fatigue and strength modeling.

  • Previous experience and knowledge of physical component and system testing of structural components.

Travel

  • 0-20 % travel Domestic. Possibility of International Travel.

  • May be required to drive a company car.
