Job Description:

  • The EE Component Design and Release Engineer is responsible for EE component design, development, packaging, testing, calibration, and releasing.

  • The Engineer will interface with systems group to define vehicle level functional specifications. The candidate will also: Develop component level specifications; participate in Product Assurance Planning (Program Management); manage the supplier of the components; and component DFMEA (Design Failure Mode Effects Analysis), DVRR (Design Validation and Reliability Report), and Timing Proactive Quality Plan.

  • The candidate will participate in Reactive Quality Problem Solving and will be supporting Supplier Quality during Process Sign-off (PS) and PFMEA reviews (Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis). In addition, the Engineer will be releasing components via Change Management System (CN's) and will interface with EMEA, APAC and LATAM counterparts on global commonality.

  • Some travel to Mexico (supplier plant), EMEA, APAC, LATAM and assembly plants.

  • Responsibilities include program & supplier management, open issue tracking with proactive issue resolution, delivery to all vehicle program milestones, and all aspects of cradle to grave release activity specifications.

  • This is comprehensive task including all sourcing documents, engineering change notices, requirements clarification and cross-functional team alignment.

  • Typical origination involves generating program development timelines, lead component packaging activities, component/system HW/SW validation plans, and developing ECU diagnostics.Usage of system FMEA’s, process standards, and application of core DVP&R’s is expected.

Requirements:

  • BSEE from an ABET accredited university

  • Experience with design, development, and release of ADAS systems/components

  • Familiar with CAN/LIN/LVDS communication protocols and troubleshooting tools

  • Experience in root cause techniques (is-is not, 5-why, DMAIC, 8D, 5-penny, fishbone/fault-tree analysis)

  • Experience using Vector tools (CANoe, CANalyzer)

Preferred Requirements:

  • Master's degree (Engineering, Quality, Business) from an ABET accredited or equivalent program

  • Reactive Shainin Green/Black Belt certification

  • Proactive DFSS Green/Black Belt certification

  • Working knowledge of GD&T and Tolerance Stack-up Analysis

  • Logical thinker who can systemically sort through complex issues in pursuit of a resolution

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Docs

  • Design, development and release of Advanced Driver Assist (ADAS) components - long/short range radar, cameras (human/machine vision/Infrared) and lighting, ultrasonic sensors, and Lidar sensing systems. The associated processing ECUs, domain modules, and high-resolution GPS modules are included.

Travel:

  • Will be required to drive a company car.

  • Valid driver’s license is required as well as a clean driving record.

  • Will be required to travel domestically and internationally up to 20%
