Position Description:

Engine NVH CAE & Development Engineer responsible for the Overall Powertrain NVH metric on all FWD Model, Current & Past, and TVM action engine programs. This includes both CAE and testing. You will be responsible for anal analyzing, testing and interpreting NVH measurements for the purpose of optimizing Powerplant designs and NVH palliatives on global applications. You will be part of a global team that will provide PT NVH guidance for all the Truck and Car programs and will work with Global Engine Engineering, Engine Mounts, Electrification, Exhaust, Transmission, and Suppliers to streamline the product development process.

Skills Required:

Lead powertrain NVH attribute team for the assigned program and meet program deliverables on time Insure engine design content will meet all NVH targets Act as the single point of contact to for all powertrain systems NVH matters Lead completion of powertrain NVH system, sub-system & component health assessments Lead powertrain NVH target cascade from system level downward Conduct CAE (Computed Aided Engineering) analysis using FEM (Finite Element Method) and BEM (Boundary Element Method) softwares to assess system level NVH performance. Lead Engine/Powerplant NVH CAE design verification (DV) process in supporting programs for analytical signoff. Interpret CAE results supporting design/release activities to ensure NVH targets are achieved. Validate CAE predictions against hardware testing confirming model accuracy. Develop, implement, and document new NVH CAE methods, Technology & Product development Acquire and process all noise and vibration data in support of the powerplant program & benchmarking Produce and present all reports to management on powerplant status to targets Partner with engine, vehicle NVH, or transmission NVH on powerplant NVH issue resolution Primary Skills Required: BS EE/ME or equivalent. Software Skills: Altair Hypermesh, OptiStruct (Linear Analysis/Optimization), LMS Virtual Lab (Acoustic BEM), Teamcenter, MATLAB, CATIA. Working knowledge in acoustic & vibration digital signal processing tools (LMS, Artemis, B&K, etc…)
