G-TECH Services, Inc. Automotive Feature Quality Engineer in Dearborn, Michigan
This position is to assess the quality of Feature/Function specifications and the feature development practices used by feature owners at within our client's Product Development, as well as provide feature owners support in developing requirements.
It focuses on improving the Feature and Function specification quality by applying Requirement Engineering process, templates & tools, and promoting a peer review culture.
Educate feature owners about the Requirement Engineering process within our client's Product Development.
Use Requirement Engineering guidelines, tools and checklists to evaluate quality of specifications and supporting documents.
Emphasize the importance of local SME peer-reviews at each stage of the development cycle and review evidence of such reviews
Verify critical design aspects such as Robustness, Fault Handling, Diagnostics, Power and Operational modes as well as Network Interfaces are considered during requirement development
Verify that Feature Owners integrate Lessons Learned in the feature design process, and FMA/FMEA results are fed back into the feature/function specification as measurable requirements.
Assess the quality of development processes relative to feature verification & validation plan and test specifications.
Confirm proper verification and test coverage has been identified. Verify test specification sign-off from key stakeholders.
Develop standard design aid/design checklists to be used during development and subsequent peer review of the specifications.
Provide hands-on support and coaching to the feature owners on developing critical areas in feature and function specification documents.
Requirement Engineering processes and tools
Systems architecture design (bottom-up, top-down, functional decomposition, re-usability, etc.).
Automotive communication networks (CAN/ LIN, etc.).
3+ year experience on specification/requirement development for Automotive applications
Experience in the software development, embedded and design /applications for the automotive domain.
Model-Based System Engineering languages for requirement capture and information model development (SysML, UML, Simulink, etc.) (preferred).
Experience in software quality assurance (preferred).
- Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or an equivalent technical discipline.
