Job Description

  • Launch Production Coordinator - Paint: Ensure the training of hourly and salaried plant launch team members is on schedule

  • Supervise the launch team by providing direction and leadership, prioritizing the day-to-day activities

  • Deliver the plant launch timing plan, with GPDS milestones and deliverables

  • Lead the confidentiality process during the launch phase

  • Represent the voice of the plant during launch

  • Keep the plant informed of the latest launch status and request launch support resources according to priorities

  • Support the daily acceleration build targets until planned JPH is reached

  • Ensure parts and scrap are organized and recorded

  • Optimize throughput in accordance with budgets and cost objectives

  • Monitor ANDON occurrences. Be the first responder as secondary support

  • Document control plan requirements for each build phase

  • Create a conducive work environment for the team(s) to complete their assigned responsibilities / tasks

  • Basic administration of supervisory responsibilities and documents

  • Use Vis Plant monitoring software to review cycle times of automation, review and follow up automation project's and installations

  • Troubleshoot PLC, robot, and other automation problems

  • Update program backups for automation

  • Reprogram automation for engineering changes and improvements

  • Coordinate automation campaigns

Experience Required

  • Ability to work any shift as well as rotating shifts and weekends

  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision

  • Capable of assigning work to unionized hourly workforce and holding employees accountable for following processes pertaining to daily work assignments in terms safety, quality, and throughput

  • Strong organizational and administrative skills

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Strong problem-solving and conflict management skills

Experience Preferred

  • Paint experience preferred o Safety and Quality experience preferred

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles

  • Knowledge of constraint management principles

  • Microsoft Office knowledge (Word/Excel/Outlook)

  • Prior experience managing a unionized work force

Education Required

  • High School Diploma
