Job Description

  • Body Interior Engineers

Skills Required

  • Design & Release Seat Complete and Seat Features (e.g., Seat Integration, lumbar, armrests, climate-controlled seat components, multi-contour seat components, headrests) for global seat program

  • Design & Release Restraints Assemblies (Seat Belts, Airbags, OCS, Steering Wheels, etc)

  • Design & Release of Instrument Panel Components and Assemblies (e.g., Glove Box, Wrapping, Toppers, etc) and Consoles and Systems (e.g., Media Bins, etc)

  • Design & Release of Interior Trim Components and Assemblies (e.g., Hard Trim, Soft Trim, Overhead Systems, Door Trim, etc)

  • Design & Release of Climate Control System with the ability to develop a vehicle's Climate Control system to meet specific AC, Heater, and Defrost targets

  • Drive vehicle design to World-Class Craftsmanship and establish Body Craftsmanship targets for new programs

  • Root Cause Analysis skills to diagnose and implement Quality actions in current model vehicles, using multiple sources of data

  • Knowledge of GPDS, to support Body Interior Team Successful Delivery of Key Milestones

  • Primary interface between Body Interior Engineering and Interior Integration Teams, Program Management, Studio, etc

  • Manage the delivery of your assembly/component design & timing to ensure flawless delivery for all major programs

  • Lead quality delivery (warranty/TGW) for all components

  • Develop/implement functional cost and strategic CBP plans for the commodity

  • Manage financial status-to-target for each commodity on each major program

Skills Preferred

  • CATIA V5

  • Experience working with material cost analysis, manufacturing experience, injection molding, and knowledge of materials desired

  • Ability to work with designers for in-house designs

  • Excellent Oral and Written Communication skills with the ability to work in cross-functional teams

Experience Required

  • 3+ years experience in D&R Engineering

  • Thorough knowledge of GPDS and proven skill of interpreting process deliverables for Body Interior Engineering

  • Functional/working knowledge of all D&R tools incl WERS, AVBOM, GPIRS, eFDVS, eDeviation

  • Launch experience in Body Interior Commodities from TT – OKTB on at least one major program

  • Demonstrated leadership skills with engineering fundamentals such as target setting, target cascades, design completion, verification, and confirmation

  • Familiarity with Body Interior Engineering GCBP's, Attachment 'C's, DEA waterfall

  • Demonstrated understanding of Body Interior Systems, Sub-Systems, Components, competitive benchmarking, value, and supply-base

Education Required

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering

Education Preferred

  • Masters Degree
