Vehicle Engineering Attribute Engineers deliver customer centric vehicle performance. The Customer Interaction and Experience Development (CIED) team ensures that all aspects of the static vehicle experience fully meet customer expectations. The role of Program Attribute Team (PAT) Engineer involves following programs from early inception until launch and ensuring standards and experiences that delight customers are delivered. Responsibilities: • For assigned program, assure full compliance to Ergonomic, Harmony, and Stowage requirements (Primary, Secondary, etc.) working with Design Studio, Design and Release, and Vehicle Engineering activities • Assist in developing program targets, assumptions and new vehicle features by identifying customer needs and wants through the use of detailed benchmarking and the application of Ergonomic, Harmony and Stowage standards and principles • Participate in user research and conduct clinics to assess usability of various HMI proposals and synthesize findings into actionable insights • Validate user interface designs of vehicles to ensure they are usable, intuitive and support the key moments and experiences for the customer • Utilize production intent prototypes to evaluate instrument cluster, steering wheel, centerstack infotainment systems, and other mobility related customer touch points • Integrate new technologies into existing vehicle behaviors to increase vehicle usability • Serve as central lead to deliver specific attribute needs on program teams • Lead issue resolution and coordinate delivery between multiple Functions (Corporate Design, Vehicle Engineering, Vehicle Operations, Design and Release Engineering, Suppliers, etc.) to ensure designs are compatible with customer experiences, attribute targets, corporate requirements, service, assembly, etc.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Skills • Familiarity with automotive electrical architecture and module to module communication • Experience with module/signal coordination at an attribute level • Experience using HIL for validation and with component illumination and dynamic dimming execution • Self-starter with ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks w/ minimal direction; comfortable w/ changing environment of early Program work • Willingness to travel for customer research events
• 2+ years of Automotive Engineering experience or related field • 2+ years of experience with using CATIA and MS Office products
• 4+ years experience in Vehicle Attribute engineering in Automotive industry or related field (specifically Human Factors, Storage or Harmony attributes) • 4+ years experience using CATIA • 3+ years experience using Human Modeling Software (JACK , Ramsis, etc.) • 3+ years conducting customer usability studies of both digital and physical interfaces.
Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
• MS Automotive Systems Engineering or related field

Additional Responsibilities: Utilize corporate tools in the application and assessment of CIED standards for vehicle components, features, and systems and drive the compliance or deviation process as needed • Participate in appropriate meetings to support the program(s), including upper and senior level management reviews. Routinely present CIED issues to Program Management/Chiefs
