Position Description:

Project Purpose: Document on-board diagnostic (OBD) solutions for powertrain technologies needed to meet global diagnostic regulatory requirements. Project Expectations: •Review existing HPCM (Hybrid Powertrain Control Module) OBD / diagnostic software. •Develop DVMs (Design Verification Methods) for OBD systems. •Develop OBD related documentation (Calibration Guidelines, Diagnostics Operations Summary, Fault Demonstration Methods/test cases, CARB decks). Diagnostic operations summary should include descriptions of how codes set, why they set, how they are turned on/off, etc. •Execute diagnostic routines, report test results, and give recommendations to improve system reliability and durability. •Perform HIL/SIL, on-road, emissions, and/or dynamometer data collection to validate and calibrate diagnostic monitoring capability of new powertrain technologies. •Identify and aid in resolving OBD issues with internal and external stakeholders.

Skills Required:

•Experience with OBD diagnostics and test cases. •Experience designing, implementing, testing, debugging, and validating embedded software. •Programming experience using modern software languages with knowledge of embedded software development tools/processes. •Knowledge and use of Boundary Diagrams, P Diagrams, and FMEAs •Excel and Matlab working knowledge.

Experience Required:

1 year minimum experience in automotive product development.

Education Required:

BSEE, BSME and/or BS-Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent
