Position Description:

This position is on the embedded software development xHEV (Hybrid, Plug-in Hybrid and Battery Electric vehicles) team responsible for the implementation of the High Voltage Battery Monitoring System. As an Embedded Systems Software Application Engineer you will have responsibility for implementing and validating vehicle controls software. This position requires a trainable, self-motivated individual with a strong software process or embedded systems background. This individual must have a passion for embedded system software development. Job Duties/Responsibilities: • Analyzing Targetlink, Matlab, Simulink, Stateflow models and MISRA C control system software designs for compliance to requirements. • Implement requirements using MATLAB/Simulink/Targetlink and C programming • Validate model-based designs using desktop simulation packages (MIL & SIL) • Collect and analyze data to solve hardware and software issues with the following: • High voltage automotive system battery components including Battery, DCDC, DC/AC Chargers and Motor Inverter • Battery software algorithm controls issues including battery state of charge, battery online power capability estimation, battery capacity and battery charging algorithms • Battery power electronics controls module • Interact with other teams to develop controls requirements • Develop and maintain design documentation • Support tools development, compiler setup, static analysis, and software configuration management • Analyze field data to solve issues related to model/c code implementation • Manage multiple tasks and responsibilities

Skills Required:

• Hands on experience working on embedded systems, software processes, controls design, controls design modeling and programming • Hands on experience using MATLAB/Simulink modeling and C programing

Skills Preferred:

• Able to function and learn in cross-discipline between Software Implementation and Controls Design • Excellent written and oral communication skills • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks

Experience Required:

• Experience in project management

Education Required:

• Master’s degree in Automotive, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer or Related Automotive Engineering Fields with a focus on Controls Design
