Seeking an Engineer to innovate and develop advanced control algorithms and model implementation concepts for semi-automated driver assistance features & technologies to help drivers avoid/mitigate accidents and to make driving less stressful Responsibilities • Implement advanced optimization-based controllers in both simulation/replay and real-time software environment within a cross-functional research team: including developing software requirements, working with state-of-the-art suppliers/startups, and software engineers to deliver production viable software to forward model customers. • Develop model-based (Simulink Code, Stateflow, C Code) feature algorithms that are robust to expected noise factors, and real-time executable on rapid prototyping tools (e.g. dSpace) • Translate customer and corporate needs and requirements to system requirements and specifications • Understand ADAS system architecture and lead advanced control algorithm submodule interface specifications, requirement specification and validation plan. • Design/use CAE, lab and in-vehicle testing tools to assess feature and control system performance, including the modelling/verification of steering/throttle/brake vehicle dynamics and sensor modalities • Development of Model Interface Specifications and Standards for new ADAS features, that support both in-house developed features, and support supplier integrated features.
• Automotive CAN, Ethernet protocols • Controls Systems algorithm development using Matlab Simulink Stateflow • Driver Assistance Feature Sensing data and interface analysis (Radar, Camera, Lidar, or Ultrasonics). • Software Analysis Tool scripting, automated analysis tools development, executable file or DLL development, etc.
• 2+ years of experience with Automotive CAN, Ethernet protocols (NO coursework allowed) • 2+ years of experience with feature development of driver assistance systems such as ACC, collision avoidance, lane keeping, and parking. Experience must include in-vehicle testing. (NO coursework allowed) • 2+ year of experience with Controls Systems algorithm development using Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow - required to be more than just tuning existing models, must have background in development of new software (NO coursework allowed) • 2+ year of experience with Driver Assistance Feature Sensing data and interface analysis (Radar, Camera, Lidar, or Ultrasonics). NO coursework allowed. • 1+ Years of experience with either TNO PreScan or carSIM Simulation tools • 1+ Years of experience with HPC (High Performance Computer) managing data and software on HPC Server and Data Storage, • 1+ Years of Software Analysis Tool scripting, automated analysis tools development, executable file or DLL development, etc.
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field
