Participate in a team of engineers responsible for the development, integration, build and test of software for control module for various control algorithm analysis, design, implementation, bench/dyno/vehicle testing.
Perform failure mode analysis, diagnostic analysis, design, implementation and testing.
Perform software requirements analysis, design, coding, test plan creation, and testing for Control Features.
Perform reviews for Requirements, Design Documents, Simulink Models, C/C++/Assembly code, and Test Plans.
Create RTW/Target Link Models.
The ideal candidate will have experience in and be able to significantly contribute in many or all of the following areas:
3-5 years experience.
Controls systems & Operating strategy.
Gas exchange processes (valving control, boosting systems, EGR, charge motion devices, etc.).
Fuel systems (port and direct injection systems).
Combustion processes (spark ignition, compression ignition, HCCI).
Utilization of sensors in feedback and feedforward control strategies.
Integrated powertrain control (torque characterization, engine/transmission interactions, powertrain optimization strategies).
Auxiliary load management and optimization.
Thermal characterization and thermal management.
Fuel economy and performance optimization.
MS -- ME, EE, Controls, Systems Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Technology, Automotive Engineering, Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering or Applied Physics from an ABET accredited university.
Willing to consider candidates with Bachelors in Engineering only if they have 3+ years of practical / real world GT Power experience (i.e. not academic / co-op experience).
2 - 4 years’ experience in one or more of the specialty areas listed above - an advanced degree and/or academic research in a related field may count towards experience requirement.
Demonstrated technical problem solving.
Strong overall knowledge of and experience with IC engines.
Strong knowledge of combustion theory and combustion analysis.
Experience with modeling/simulation/development/testing/validation.
Knowledge of and experience with engine control system development.
Outstanding interpersonal and problem solving skills.
Engine calibration and/or embedded software experience.
Demonstrated application of technical excellence Instances of demonstrated application of technical excellence (developed new process, experimental or computational; developed new numerical or modeling procedure; developed new statistical procedure; developed new problem solving approach; etc.)
Experience with data acquisition and analysis tools such as ETAS-INCA.
Experience with combustion analysis tools such as CAS and Inidcom.
Experience with model-based development tools such as MATLAB/SIMULINK.
Experience with 0-D and 1-D physical modeling tools such as GT Power and Flowmaster.
Experience with rapid prototype controllers.
Will be required to drive a company car.
A valid driver’s license is required as well as a clean driving record.
Will be required to travel domestically and internationally up to 20%
