G-TECH Services, Inc. Specialist Comm Writer in Detroit, Michigan

The Technical Writer produces and maintains documentation related to processes and user guide content targeted to both business and technical audiences. This position works with leadership and business specialists to construct business specifications and technical data, outlines, drafts, and organizes documentation efforts.

RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS:

• Produces high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience.

• Experience in creating technical Release Notes, User Guides, Design and Technical Documentation.

• Works with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the business and the documentation requirements.

• Conducts meetings online to facilitate discovery as needed.

• Drives documentation projects to completion within established timeframes.

• Responsible for maintaining up to date process documentation.

• Works within established style guidelines.

• Performs quality reviews of documents, within given timeframes and with little or no supervision, to ensure correct spelling, grammar, content accuracy, and tone and voice consistency.

• Creates, edits, and maintains technical documentation.

• Contributes as a valued member on multiple product teams.

EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communications or a related field. Relevant combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree. Continuous learning, as defined by the Company’s learning philosophy, is required. Certification or progress toward certification is highly preferred and encouraged.

EXPERIENCE:

Three years experience in Technical Communications or a related field which demonstrates the skills, knowledge, and abilities required.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES (SKA) REQUIRED:

• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced office environment, while managing a variety of tasks and multiple priorities.

• Knowledge of medical healthcare insurance processes.

• Knowledge of JIRA and Confluence.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Ability to meet deadlines.

• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, Visio and online help products.

• Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed in an office setting with no unusual hazards.
