Working on the afternoon shift with Crankshaft machining and block machining
Responsible for acting as the engineering support the production people
Minimal support staff, for the most part, they will need to be speaking, and supporting the operations people on issues they are working on
Engineering support for any machine downtime
Out on the plant floor the whole shift addressing different service orders that come in
The "individual contributor/technical expert" level Process Engineer for a new Engine Block product program responsible for developing manufacturing processes, equipment/tooling alternatives, sequence and flow of operations for the effective utilization of personnel, material, machines, and facilities necessary to produce Engine Blocks.
Work is performed in a centralized Manufacturing Engineering activity at our client's Global Propulsion System Plant, where a considerable amount of creativity and initiative is exercised as well as a high level of independent judgment.
Responsible for supporting the following activities related to the Engine Block line:
Support Project management for the launch of a new Engine Block project.
Manages variants of technologies through development and across multiple implementations
Efficient material flow
Successful launch and continuous improvement of equipment and tools required to produce high-quality parts
Providing technical direction to and oversight to production operators
Assist in the closure of Manufacturing Engineering deliverables
Work may involve development and testing of advanced process technology.
Competent technical knowledge and ability in Process Engineering for machined Engine components
Competent knowledge and ability to implement GMS principles
Good understanding of metal machining processes
Siemens controller background
3-5 years of prior professional experience working within a manufacturing environment
Demonstrated excellent level of analytical ability, communication and interpersonal skills required to build relationships with team members and customers to solve problems and resolve issues.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and difficult projects and assignments with a high level of autonomy and accountability for results
Demonstrates initiative by reaching beyond work assigned to improve output and/or help others
Proven ability in project management skills
Demonstrated understanding of plant floor work
Multiple different ME assignments with successful individual achievements or strong team-based achievements
Crankshaft manufacturing experience
Global Exposure working with others from other regions to complete projects
Demonstrated understanding of plant floor and product design manufacturability
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
